Birth Order/Sibling Dynamics

What is your birth order?

It's definitely complicated. I'm the oldest bio-child with multiple fosters-cum-siblings (inc. 2 older) and many steps - all younger, but not by much. We don't bother explaining details, we're just all siblings. We're a big, boisterous, noisy bunch ... and I love 'em ALL!

Exactly why I put the complicated option in there! I'm far from being the first biologically, but I've never had a relationship with the older siblings so I just call myself an eldest child, if I met them now they'd be my older siblings technically but I still grew up being treated like the eldest🤷

If you are not the oldest or the youngest you are a middle child, there can be more than one.
By this definition I'm one of the many, MANY middle children :caf
But growing up I was always considered one of the younger ones, and as people grow up/move out etc, the "oldest" roles, responsibilities etc. are kinda shifted down.
I'm technically one of the oldest now.

It's not so much my birth order as much as probably big family influence but I kinda think I'm fairly independent and kinda never want people to be concerned or bothered about or by me.

There's absolutely no way my parents could've parented us all the same way.

This is sooooo real, big families definitely create independent children no matter what your birth order was.

I think this is one of the reasons why I have my doubts about the birth order thing because the minute you have more than 3-4 kids or any age gaps all kinds of roles shift around. One of the more obvious ones would be how the youngest is treated, if you're the last one of 3 then you're probably the baby and your parents are more likely to coddle you or keep you held back a little, but the last one of 7...let's just say I've heard parents say really cruel things about "accidental" last kids that they never wanted and can't wait to be unburdened of.

Yeah I see that in my own life, I'm a good deal older than my siblings and I can attest to the fact that my mother parents differently in each stage of her life with each different kid. Plus there's too many of us for each one to get the same treatment at each phase in development.

Nope :D, and to make things better we live in a three-bedroom house:p
shocked oh no GIF

But some mornings you do wake up filling( :caf:he:smack)
Oh my gosh, I think I'd go crazy😂
I can't get anything done if I have to share a space with someone and I can be sensitive to volume so I'd definitely be pulling my hair out😵‍💫
