It is May, and spring, which has been warring with winter for the past two months, is finally victorious. The creek is running high, the grass is green, and leaves are budding on the birches, and needles on the larches. It has been wavering back and forth between winter and spring for the past few weeks; first sunshine, then a snowstorm. But now the sunshine just might be here to stay, if we are lucky, and I am glad of that.

Hazel: Just don't spill the beans.
Hedwig: We were getting too big for the house and our brooder, so Mommy moved us into the garage and our brooder is now the hens' old run.

Hedwig: WHAT?! They were gonna know anyways.
Buttermilk: Yesterday was such a nice day.
Bisquick: Ya! PE was AWESOME!
Snap: :'( Mommy's gonna be gone for the weekend. That means we'll be left in the hands of our uncles.
Bisquick: And that means that we won't be let out AT ALL.
Buttermilk: And that means that I won't get to sunbath or dustbath!!
Snap: At least we'll be let out in the morning before she leaves.
Buttermilk: On the bright side-- the egg scale is due to come today!
Bisquick: Oh yea!! I bet my eggs are jumbos.
Snap: I started laying Juni-colored eggs. :3
Buttermilk: You guys will never guess what tomorrow is.
