Jazzy: My paws are cold :c I just ran around in the snow for a few minutes.

Elanor: That's quite a temperature change!
Marianne: Do you guys have a water heater?

Sophia: SO MUCH SNOW!!!
Elanor: I like the snow!
Marianne: You like snow, you like school, what other strange things do you like?
Elanor: Oh, come on, you have strange liking's too. Like...Marianne, you like oyster shells, and Sophia, you like shallow dustbaths versus deeper ones.
Marianne: well, surely there is somebody on here who also likes oyster shell. Anyone?

Buttermilk: I kinda like them! I would always make Junior eat them for her calcium. :')
Bisquick: Today the snow started melting so I went out for a LONG time with the chicks. :3
Snap: Butter and I got cold, so we went in.
Hazel: We took dustbaths, and practically explored the whole yard--
Hedwig: AND I FOUND A DEAD MOUSE!! I had found it before then Mommy took it away, then the snow meleted and I found it again!
Omelette: It was GROSS!

Pippy: Then Mommy threw it away for GOOD.

All chickens: IT WAS DEAD!!!!
Sophia: I don't mind them myself! But I prefer eggshells.
Elanor: I like cabbage
Marianne: we all like cabbage.

Sophia: I smell smoke.
Elanor: from the house's chimney.
Sophia: No, the wind should be blowing that the other way. See, out there, I can see a plume of smoke!
Marianne: Oh, I see it too! It...It looks like it is coming toward our neighbors!
Elanor: Can they see it from that angle? And do you really think there would be a issue? Their humans should be home right now, they will take care of everything
Sophia: And even if they can, can the chickens escape their coop if there really is a problem, which there probably isn't?
Elanor: We'd better go check! C'mon, out the emergency door!
*chickens run out to thier playground, out onto the middle plank, which they run along, leap on to the rock, pound thier wings and fly over the fence. (Yes, they really can do this, no they don't actually do it unless they are really upset) And take off for the neighbors.
Elanor: You guys okay?
chicken 1: Yeah, why?
Marianne: Plume of smoke, looked like it was coming this way...
Chicken 2: I knew I smelled something!
Chicken 3: Here, let's slip out of here and go down to wherever it is, make sure everything is alright.
Sophia: Let's stop by the RIR's up the hill from here and tell them while we are at it...
*Five minutes later, Three chickenmobiles carrying all the chickens from the area speed down the road, then stop suddenly*
Sophia: Whoa....Nellie!!!
Chicken 4: Chimeny's on fire!
Chicken 5: Gimme my c-touch...gotta take a pic!
Sophia: Looks like the humans have gotten it under control.
Elanor: Better not go close to the human's road... they wouldn't want us here.
Marianne: well, at least it won't spread anywhere...
Chicken 6: there are no chickens here, right?
Chicken 3: Nope.
Chicken 1: We'd better leave, there are dogs running all over the place and a cat on the loose!

Hedwig: Wow! Fires sound scary!!
Snap: the snow has meeeeeeelteeeeeed!!!!!
ya.gif

Bisquick: Well... almost--except that we're getting more snow tomorrow.
Snap: UUHHH... WHY MUST THIS TORTURE BE BROUGHT UPON US?!
Buttermilk: PLUS I'm molting and I get really cold easily.
Omelette: Yesterday Bissy stayed out with us and we took a dustbath. :3
Pippy: I felt like a spring chicken!
Hazel: *pat pat* Only a couple more months, Pip.
Pippy: *sigh* I'm getting tired of winter...

Registration week newsletter
Dear Steamflow Community:
If you are planning on attending next year, you must register in the classes you want to take! Due to increased enrollment numbers, we will begin the registration process now instead of summer. Remember, each year, one laying class, one Perching/balancing class, one pecking order, flock dynamics, or chicken sciences class, and one foraging skills/predator safely, predator safely, or nature skills class, as well as two electives are required to move to the next level.
First level chickens, enrolling in our Chick Academy program, will be registered either in Autumn academy or spring academy. Autumn academy chicks (Acquired sometime other than spring) must be a month or older by December. Younger chicks must be enrolled in the spring academy, which begins in march. Please see the enclosed lists to see which classes must be taken. Be sure to note which classes cannot be taken simultaneously, and which need a prerequisite class to be taken before. Also be sure to assure you have at least six periods scheduled year-round, and that you have no more than eight. Also--our pecking order department decided to create Advanced and standard-level classes for each level, in addition to the AP college-level courses available second year and up. Also, we now have a flight skills class for our flight athletes, and a Breeds II class focusing on heritage breeds.
thanks, Streamflow
