Marianne: Grass. Grass wins easily.
Elanor: No, what about snow?
Sophia: No fighting, I'm too tired from our big thanksgiving shopping trip!
Elanor: I had to take eight buses to get where I needed to shop. Eight.
Colonel: We don't have a car or a carpool. We take buses around town. I had to go to the hardware store, the indoor Farmer's market, the Library, and a specific grocery store.
Elanor: I had another grocery store, the Nestbox shoppe, Featherton Souvenirs, to pick up a gift for someone, the post office, and Frills and Feathers.
Marianne: I was assigned to the mall. I spent my time going to literally every store in the mall to get everything on the list.
Sophia: I went to Fly high, to get Colonel's flight harness repaired, ChickenShoes, for new Boots for Ellie, to Streamflow, to pick up a new school uniform for myself, and then to Chicken-mart for wrapping paper, then back to Fly High, to pick up the harness.
Marianne: No co-op tomorrow!
Elanor: Since we get all our weekly assignments at co-op, we never have ones the week before a break. Even though all the schools are open tomorrow, Streamflow Coopschooling co-op is closed.
Colonel: So what are we doing for Thanksgiving?
Sophia: Well, starting Tuesday, there's Fall cleaning.
Colonel: Is this as bad as Spring Cleaning?
Elanor: Worse, because we have a shorter time.
Sophia: Quiet, Ellie! Anyway, we finish Fall Cleaning on Wednesday, and then we start cooking. We have French-Style Layer Butter, Mushy Cranberry sauce, sweet potato peeling cassorole, mashed Potato peelings, Sparkling Apple cider--That's what I save all that Apple juice for, Colonel--Pumpkin sauce, squash sauce, homemade cornbread, wheat bread, and pumpkin and layer butter pies.
Colonel: Wow.
Sophia: For fall cleaning, you'll probably be assigned to outdoor roosts, Dustbath Maintenance, Pop door maintenance, feeder cleaning, and roost polishing and sanding. Then for cooking, I'll put you on table setting, mashed potato peelings, and helping me with layer butter and pies.
Colonel: Okay.
