So I went to a co-workers house for the first time today. I didn't know she had dogs but I like dogs!

She had three that greeted me the second I walked into the house! Two were ecstatic, one not so much. What I didn't realize was that the not-so-much one was seeing how to best bite me.

I thought the first was an accidental bump of the teeth on my knee...the second I thought was a small nip (she broke the skin) and the third was an all out attack on my arm which included growling. My co-worker grabbed the dog once she realized what was happening and took her outside...where the dog continued to snarl and growl once I she saw me through the windows.

Co-worker said "She has never bitten anyone before!" Like it's my fault?

I realize it may have just been a one-time thing. I ask the breeds of them and they're all pit-bull mixes. Dude...I'm NOT breed prejudice especially since the other two were perfectly happy to lick my feet and play with me.

So I sit back and watch the fun...the dogs chase each other, are allowed to rip clothing, bedding, etc. Allowed on furniture, on the counters. She reprimands them about 5 minutes after they do the bad thing. Well of course the dog doesn't understand what's going on 5 minutes after the fact when they're getting the cold shoulder from her.

They stared at the food, tried to sneak at the food and the biggest thing was each of the dogs stared me down. I didn't want to have another bite-fest going on so I avoided all eye contact. Probably not the best move on my part, especially considering...but they are not my dogs to reprimand. They jumped up on me to which I told them firmly "No." and they obeyed.

Just frustrating because now I've got bruises on my arm and knee with broken skin. All were up to date on rabies...I'll upload pics later...

Just frustrating.

Here are the photos...the injuries aren't that bad, but still put me in a bad mood:
This is the one I thought was an accidental teeth bump:

This is the last one and the most serious before she pulled the dog off:

That would be very frustrating!!!!
I HAVE to have dogs that listen. I have ours so that they will not jump when told "Down!", will drop anything, even food at "Drop it!"
They do not even LOOK at something they arent supposed to have when we say "Not for you!". They dont "mess" in the house or make a run for the door when it opens.
They wont stare us down.
I would say the worst our dogs do is pull a little on the leash when being walked.
Granted, our big dog wont let just anyone into the house but backs off when "I" or my daughter says its okay. He wouldnt be creeping up on anyone trying to bite them.

Sigh. Are the people who own these dogs the kind that have unruly children as well?
PS Just saw the photos. EEP!!!!!!!

They don't have kids...but I would hope the kids would be different...

I'm not afraid of dogs...but that dog absolutely hates me. I don't know what to do about it other than ask her to keep it locked up away from me when I'm there.

You would need to report to the AC about the bites or attempted bites so they can put a "tag" on those dogs for possible aggressive biters. That would be the LEAST you could do.

The most you can do, go ahead and report and let the AC deal with the issues. Those photos you took would be shown as evidence.

I see some problems with the dogs near future. Particuarly that dog that bit you would be enough to sound off some bells!

I don't understand how people can live with dogs that they can't control. Dogs rampaging around the house are NOT much fun to be around, especially if they are tearing up stuff in the process!!!

My nextdoor neighbors seem to be fairly good dog owners, better than most anyway. Their dogs are always in the pen, on leash or directly beside the owners in their own yard, and they come home on lunch break to make sure the dogs get to go outside, ya know just seem to take good care of them.....
but they don't know a THING about training.
They have an adult tiny dog, who I wouldn't want to own but he's theirs so who cares. Well their puppy is a large breed (I'm not sure, thought she is a boxer but I dunno for sure) and they treat it like the small breed. If it won't come when they call, they just pick it up and carry it inside. I forsee problems when this little one gets too big to carry around

As much as I would hate to cause trouble for your friend - that dog is trouble and it will only get worse. It's probably not even the dog's fault. The dog could probably be properly trained by a firm, dog-savvy owner and lead a perfectly good life. However, in the hands of your coworker it sounds like the dog is a ticking timebomb. The fact that they were allowed to be rampaging around the house after biting you should send up some serious red flags!!
I would definitely report the bite to AC!

It seems obvious that there is no training or leadership for those dogs. It's the owner who has the problem. Sadly, the out of control dogs will probably get into trouble because she is so incompetent.

I wouldnt report the dog... You have to work with the person.
But i would tell her to have the dog locked up when you go over there again...
Sorry about the boo-boo..

I can't make a report because it would cause HUGE problems at work. Those dogs are her babies...which is probably the problem.

Everything in the house was torn up. There was dog hair everywhere. This was an EXPENSIVE house too...I felt bad for the dogs and for her. I would love to train the dogs, but not that one. That one freaks me out now. Just looking at me she was snarling. But when the neighbor kids came up, she was wiggly as a 6 week old puppy!

Wow....as an owner of 4 large dogs, 2 being pitts, If any of my dogs jumped up on any guest, I would be completely embaressed. If any of my dogs bit a guest, the words "I am so sorry" would never stop flowing. Did she suggest you wash your bite or anything? Did she even tend to your bruises? Ice? Anything?

I'm sorry, but some people should not own dogs. I don't mean just big dogs, any dog. If you cant train your dog basic obedience...its like letting a kid run wild. Dogs need boundries!!!!

I would be ticked if I were you!!!
