So I went to a co-workers house for the first time today. I didn't know she had dogs but I like dogs!
She had three that greeted me the second I walked into the house! Two were ecstatic, one not so much. What I didn't realize was that the not-so-much one was seeing how to best bite me.
I thought the first was an accidental bump of the teeth on my knee...the second I thought was a small nip (she broke the skin) and the third was an all out attack on my arm which included growling. My co-worker grabbed the dog once she realized what was happening and took her outside...where the dog continued to snarl and growl once I she saw me through the windows.
Co-worker said "She has never bitten anyone before!" Like it's my fault?
I realize it may have just been a one-time thing. I ask the breeds of them and they're all pit-bull mixes. Dude...I'm NOT breed prejudice especially since the other two were perfectly happy to lick my feet and play with me.
So I sit back and watch the fun...the dogs chase each other, are allowed to rip clothing, bedding, etc. Allowed on furniture, on the counters. She reprimands them about 5 minutes after they do the bad thing. Well of course the dog doesn't understand what's going on 5 minutes after the fact when they're getting the cold shoulder from her.
They stared at the food, tried to sneak at the food and the biggest thing was each of the dogs stared me down. I didn't want to have another bite-fest going on so I avoided all eye contact. Probably not the best move on my part, especially considering...but they are not my dogs to reprimand. They jumped up on me to which I told them firmly "No." and they obeyed.
Just frustrating because now I've got bruises on my arm and knee with broken skin. All were up to date on rabies...I'll upload pics later...
Just frustrating.
Here are the photos...the injuries aren't that bad, but still put me in a bad mood:
This is the one I thought was an accidental teeth bump:
This is the last one and the most serious before she pulled the dog off:
