Bizarrely aggressive garter snake

Here’s one way to do it.

I’m going to have to put one or two out. I don’t know if it´s the heat and rain here causing an abundant food source for snakes but over the past two weeks we Including my neighbors) have been seeing a big increase in snake sightings including a rattlesnake killed a few days ago.

This sounds like it might be a female protecting her eggs. I want the chickens just eat the snake if it's small and you have a few of them? My ducks and chickens have eaten frogs toads and garter snakes so far this year.
