Black Acres: The chickens that saved me

Pics
Awesome, I did that with my little silkie, until she poopied one of those soft smelly cecal poops 😲😆 ewwwww!

Miss those snuggles....
Aw, they(snuggles:love) don't have to stop...nor be messy.:celebrate

I put a paper towel (for littles) or an old towel (I call my repurposed towels my 'chicken towels') on me/under them...and get to snuggle all I want with no fear! Using an old towel is great, too, because you don't want their claws to scratch you. Hand towel against neck but outside shirt like a bib..then chicken...and if needed, end of towel up & over for warmth if it is cold. Easy peasey. When they get bigger, towel a bit lower down on body...then chicken, then wrap end of towel up if desired :) Also saves shirts from getting holes from claws of the bigger guys/gals as they are getting 'settled':D

He is super handsome, plus has the low Brahma crow, babies will be good, kind with feathered feet ♡ Again, great choice and I don't think he will disappoint. My personal breed of choice everything Brahma.
Love your cactus wood and what the heck with the huge ramp with trucks? There is something you don't see everyday.
I think you both are doing a terrific job. Obviously your DH married you for your brains and resourcefulness along with your instincts and great looks.

My DH was pretty grumpy about the whole chicken business too. I started my coop myself as I have basic skills and when he got tossed off of his horse and landed in the hospital for a few days, I picked up my first 2 (ha ha) chicks and had him babysit while recovering at home in his lounge chair. My tinkering and succeeding in chicken world and how all his friends were stoked and amazed made him want to join in and now my sourfaced Nancy negative has built me some beautiful things and has been great constant help. It just took a lot of omelets and a few years but he enjoys showing off his skills now and the people he meets when delivering chickens ;););) See?! There is hope!

Well soap and water cleaned everything 😁

Hazards of livestock. My thoroughbred pee'd on her tail and then as she walked by me she flicked her tail and caught me across the face 🤯🤯🤯

Good for your immune system 😆
No worse than having babies 😅 or messy husband's.
I'd rather be flicked in the face than clean a toilet.
