Black and Blue Orpingtons

the question i have is what is the going rate for english orpington chicks in the U.S. ?
there is a guy on craigslist asking $25 for two of them
is this a fair price?
i have buffs only & want to add some color to my flock
this is just for fun & i don't intend to show them
unless i get a really fine looking bird by chance.

That seems incredibly cheap, what colors is he selling?

I'd be very wary and ask if his birds are pure imported English, or if they have been crossed with American lines. Ask for pictures of the parent birds, lots. Also ask him where he got his stock. If you want to PM me the photos I can tell you about their quality.

I probably wouldn't let a nice mature hen go for less than $100. The going rate for day old chicks last year was around $60-$80 each.

What line are your Lavender Orpingtons? Also I am not seeing blacks do you carry them at all? Would like to find a few GOOD blacks

I bought some Lemon Cuckoo Orpington chicks that came from your eggs and loving them. They are growing very nice with nice Barring coming in.

well i bagged 2 blue orpington chicks today $25
their daddy is a huge black english orpington
i have buff orpingons that are just about the same age & i can tell you there is 1 big difference
these chick have much bigger feet
i'll have to post a picture of my 2 new girls

I love black Orpingtons. I am trying to start my flock. I have only 2 right now, pullets. I am in Missouri. Would you consider shipping a few? Or giving me some prices?
