I found a local breeder of black and red sex links. Can I have some reviews on these breeds? Is one better than the other? List of pros and cons would be great!

I have had both Red and Black Sex-Links. My Blacks aren't the standard cross (Barred rock/Rhode Island Red), but my Reds are (red gene cock/silver gene hen).

Pros: Great layer, hardy, intelligent, friendly, and beautiful.
Cons: None that I've seen

Here are mine:

I've raised both Red and Black Sex Links for years (along with dozens of other breeds and hybrids) and they are hardy and docile, egg laying machines. They have been my best layers, consistently churning out more than 300 eggs per hen per year. I like the Black Sex Links even better than the Red Sex Links as my Blacks have been friendlier than my Reds and have been slightly better layers in really cold winter temperatures. Also, my Black Sex Links have tended to have a longer laying life than my Red Sex Links, but you can't go wrong either way.

I've raised red sexlinks for the past 3 years or so. They are really great, heat hardy, great layers--about 5 large brown eggs per week, most weeks--and very friendly. They don't go broody, so if you don't have need of that, these are great. Perfect if you want to keep a small flock.
