lol!, but both your chickens were very cute, I love Glorias expressions! And the new one you got was very cute, do you recsue chickens a lot because I was reading about Gloria and a buff orphington that you rescued, and Sophia I thought might be rescued because of the back :-(

Oh yes, that's our "thing". :D We rescue unwanted, abandoned, disabled chickens and give them a safe and loving place to call home. Currently we have... a half-blind chicken, one with a sprained foot, one with a crooked beak, one with a twisted back and one that was bullied so much at her last home that she lost all her tail feathers. We also have a dog with a bare spot on her head, and 2 rescued hamsters, one half blind hamster and one with bald patches on his fur; they are both about 2 years old.

Yup, this is my life, rescuing animals and giving them the best life possible.

Thats so great! Good for you. Currently we are trying to rescue some chickens and ducks in a bad home, but were not sure the person will give them up :-(

Thank you very much and surprisingly: it's a Breda!

I't's not a very well known breed and there are different names for it (Gueldres, Kraaikop, etc.). But there are breeders in the USA (and active on this forum).

Really interesting looking, and now I MUST research... I only have barred rocks now, but I tell you what, your bird make me want to diversify!
