black areas on face - please help

I have 3 chickens. 2 of them have these black areas on their face. The other chicken is black so I can't tell if she is affected. noticed it 2 weeks ago. The area looks kind of fuzzy. Have looked everywhere I could find and haven't been able to see anything that looks like this. Could it be a fungus? And is this the proper place to post this? Thanks so much. Appreciate any help.

It is hard to make out, but it almost looks like stick tight fleas or some other parasite on her comb, wattles and earlobes.
