Black australorp chick with hair on legs

I have a 2.5 week old black australorp chick that has hair (down) on her legs from the day I got her. It stops right before her toes jut out, but it goes all the way down the outside of her legs and it's black. I have not seen any photos online for black australorp chicks with hair on their legs. Has anyone experienced this?

Sounds like your chick is mixed breed or not a black Australorp. Could be a BCM, I think they look similar as chicks.

ETA: Or a black Cochin more likely.

Thats not an Black austlorp thats a black copper maran. Some chicken breeds have featherd feet.

Funny story, I have two black australorp chicks. Well I thought I did, turns out one is a BCM. I know this now because she has feathers on her legs and looks exactly like yours!

In your picture it looks as if she has quite long shanks. If so, it might rather be a Langshan than a Marans.
Where did you get them from?
