We got these as chicks the week before Easter (so about 11 weeks ago?) and I’ve been eying this one in particular. It’s wattle and comb developed pretty early on and at first I thought it just might be my first one to lay eggs. Yesterday it sounded like it was trying to crow (I know hens can crow too) but it was not doing a very good job. I thought something was dying. This is the best pic I can seem to get. I don’t see any spurs on the legs but it is more aggressive with the others. I’m leaning roo but want to make sure before I make him dinner.

That’s what I figured. Guess we’ll let him fatten up and have a good dinner then. ‍♀️ They were all supposed to be hens when I got them but they were only $1 so I’m really not upset at all.

:welcome You have a little male. Good luck and have fun...

Thanks! This is the second time we’ve done chickens. Last time was years ago and I don’t even know what breed they were. Tractor supply special. I love having chickens and want more, but living in town we really don’t have the space for more. Right now they have free reign of the garden (though our gate is low enough they get out when they want to and roam the yard too) but I’m hoping next summer to fence the whole back yard in so they can run free in the yard too.
