99% sure pullet. At 12 weeks I would expect a cockerel to have a bright red comb and wattles.

Wow. Ok. That definitely explains it. At the time I purchased her, the hatchery did have both BA's and JG's. I had asked for a BA, based on the desired temperament, egg laying capability and a true love the orpington breed. We really thought, based on her size at 5 weeks that she was a Roo. But, this makes much more sense.She has yellow skin as evident by her feet. Australorps have pink or white skin. While she is a pullet, she is not an Australorp. She's very likely a Jersey Giant and this also explains the size discrepancy![]()

thats what i was thinking, it looks exactly like how my jersey giant hen looked at that age compared to my black austalorp henShe has yellow skin as evident by her feet.
