I have a 4 year old black Australorp hen with a tumor or a large bubble near her left eye. It started out small a few years ago, then grew and hasn't seemed to be a problem for her, but it is warm to the touch. I'm just wondering if it's something anyone else has encountered and what their method of treatment has been, if any. Any feedback would be appreciated!

I've never seen this but, can you tell if it is full of liquid or a solid?

I’ve gently pressed on it and it feels as though it’s more of a solid (but not hard) mass; I’m supposing it’s just a benign tumor.

Possibly she was pecked. I've had two with lumps near the eye. I am pretty sure it was pecking. One had a significant deformity from it that gradually lessened after 2-3 years. The latest occurrence send to be staying at the same size but not going away.

I would maybe try some Benadryl in case it is a reaction. You would have to search for a dosage.

Wow, that looks exactly like one of mine! I tried to puncture and drain it once, but it just came back, so I have left it alone. I will be interested to see if anyone has ideas on here. Thanks for posting.

Thanks everyone for the feedback - I guess I'll just leave it alone for a bit longer to see what happens; maybe it will diminish on it's own (*fingers crossed*)...
