Black Australorp X Rhode Island Red

Im purchasing a Australorp Rooster today and im planning on breed it with my Rhode island red hens. Is this possibly sex link. Anyone have pictures of chicks and or hens like this? Thank you

The chicks are not sex-link and as adults they would be solid black with some red showing through.

hey Chris, do you know why my Brown Red Game x Buff Cochin BC1 hen (ER/eWh Back to buff, not to Game) looks like a pure extended black hen(with other genes like Bl/bl+ and nacked neck from mother)

here is she, with her Full sister(sister is eWh/eWh) 6+ month of age..




I suspect recessive melanizers are at play here(from buff cochin hen)

also check this thread, seems like black australorp could be ER instead of Extended black
