Black Australorps - 4 weeks old

Darn, Marko, my husband was up near Milton just last weekend

Kevin, I have no idea how to ship chickens. Where in WV are you?

Did you find a home for the autralorps - if not I would love to provide a loving home. I lost my best producing hen the other day to a hawk and I need to refresh the herd as soon as possible. I live in Franklin Co and would be more than willing to make the drive for the hens and roosters. Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike, and welcome to BYC. They have all been rehomed, but thanks for the inquiry. Sorry to hear about the hawk predation, I know that will happen to me at some point and I'm not looking forward to that day. So far the girls are appropriately wary.

Cathy,
This thread was originally posted in March when I was looking to rehome 3 of my BA's. They were scooped up within a few weeks and rehomed to a family in PA. I kept 3 BA pullets, but I think I have a SLW roo which I have talked my husband into keeping because 'he' has been friendly from chick-hood; thus I had to rehome my BA roo.

I saw that, I was on here in March, I think??? Not registered yet though, just looking! Anway, I would have loved to take them. I would not have been ready in March however! I was glad to see they found a good home!

I love BA's and plan on getting some one day! Since I am a newbie DH convienced me to get from the local feed store to save on shipping and see how it goes. If all goes well I will be getting some next spring for sure!

These are my first chickens and I have a mixed bag of heavy breeds: BA, SLW, SS, BR and Welsummers. The BA are by far the most friendly. Right now they look just like crows, same size & shape, but they peep and cluck like chickens!
