I am thinking of keeping the BA and SLW hens i have but i'm not positive on it yet. It's their first year and i know i've got some slackers in the coop. If anyone has any experience with how good of layers these breeds are it would be much appreciated..I know my others are laying faithfully now, after their 7 month strike!!

I have both and GLW is a good layers but the BA are excellent.

I've had both...I thought they were great...slowed down a little in the winter but didn't stop...even without artificial light!

MY BA are my best Layers... don't know anything about the SLW, except i bought a chick a couple months ago and it's a Roo

MY BA lay consistent through the heat of the summer and the winter.. nice large brown eggs.

Yup, the BA will probably be a great egg provider and a sweet pet as well. Not sure about the SLW.

Glad to hear so much good stuff about the BA's!! She's a Kepper!
