Black Australrop vs. Isa Brown...which to get?

I'd like to get either a single hen black australorp or an Isa brown...just having trouble deciding which one. I live in Michigan and both are cold hardy. I want strictly for eggs but the tamer the better as my 7 year old twins would love to be able to pet and handle them. I've read that both are excellent layers but also have read that the Isa browns pretty much drastically curtail they're laying after only 3 years of age. They will be with my 4 OEB game chickens (3 hens and a roo).

Looking for opinions please.

If you are looking strictly for an egg laying machine i would recommend the ISA brown, I have a 3 year old that still lays an egg practically every day. Also Australorps are known to go broody, but ISA are not.

My Australorp is super tame and docile.

They both lay brown eggs.....does the australorp lay slightly larger eggs since they are a slightly larger chicken?

I dont have any lorps but out of all the other breeds i have (RIR BSL buff orpington and many more) the ISA lays the biggest eggs.

Australorps are an actual breed with a Standard of Perfection, while ISA browns are crossbred egg layers.
