i have a small black bantam chick that hatched..the only bantam eggs i 'supposedly' had in their at the time were chabo eggs...but chabos dont have feathered legs???

any idea what this little guy could be? here he is, and him (or her) next to a chabo chick, and an araucana chick, all 'born' on the same day (last friday)

if it helps he has a sort of silver/white stripe down his chest which goes all the way under and up his bum(!)
his feet are a sort of grey green colour with black stripes across the toes.

It's really hard to say not knowing what the possibilities are. As you know there are no feather-legged Japanese (chabo).

thats the problem i bought the eggs online...as chabo eggs.....the rest all hatched as chabos...just this one is different!

4 toes, skin colour is...skin colour! but under the soles of its feet are yellow, the rest of the legs are green with black stripes?

well i mailed the egg seller today and he has told me the only chickens he has are
mechelse koekoek
chabo
cochin kriel (buff)
and araucana.
they all live in apart pens.

he came out of a small egg..so .im now wondering if he's a cross between chabo and mechelse koekoek? perhaps a mechelse roo got in wih the chabos? hard to believe with the size difference of the chickens but suppose anythings possible? he looks like my other mechelse chickens but under half the size........

i guess i'll have to wait and see what he grows up to be!
