Btw, you did nothing wrong! Hatching doesn’t always work out. It is why they say not to count your chickens before they hatch.

Oh my goodness, I didn’t realize. I thought (through what I had read, that maybe it was due to lack of space because it was growing). I had called the wildlife center and they said I could keep doing what I was doing and call them if help was needed once it hatched. I feel SO bad. Thank you for helping me. I’m sorry if my posts were too much. I appreciate your help.I’m really sorry, but this egg does not look alive to me anymore.. I think it’s been gone for awhile now![]()

I’m so sorry for your lossI’m so sorry! Had the same thing happened with a goose egg.![]()
I have a morbid question that I don’t even know how to eloquently ask. Do you just dispose of the egg or do you make sure it’s actually gone? I never expected this to happen and I’m heartbroken that it did. I guess I was hoping it was a “meant to be” situation. I feel silly crying like this, but I cannot help but Dee like I failed this little baby.
Thank you. I don’t know enough to judge what happened. I will bury it as you do. Thank you for helping me with this difficult request. So sorry for your loss
Some of us open the egg just to see if we can tell what may have gone wrong. Sometimes you can tell other times you can't but I do bury any I lose.
