Does anyone know the genes that are responsible for black or blue-breasted red/gold/white (silver)/brown birds? Say I wanted to cross a completely barred bird onto a black-breasted red for example, is it possible for the offspring to acquire the barring in place of the red? I hope I didn't make it too confusing - not really sure how else to put it.

I guess I should have said, how do solid-colored birds interact with the black-breasted pattern. I know about crossing black and blue-breasted birds of different back colors together.

it can make a difference which way the cross is ran, but using the e+ (BB red) over Barred hen is a starting point for crele. the methid of the cross is determined more by the end goal. Without an end goal there is no point in a cross.
