Black + Blue Mottled Cochin eggs

Here are some more recent photos of my birds, including an 8 week old pullet and a 9 week old cockerel.
My birds are now being pair-bred as opposed to letting one or two roosters run with the girls at the same time. Still no eggs though

I am really liking the pullet. She is showing great type so far, but I won't know how her mottling will be for a while. Not too many pure white feathers so it should be pretty decent mottling, same goes for the cockerel.

Here they are next to a full grown coturnix quail hen for size referance.

The best hen in my flock; she is paired up with a cock bird from Karl Rau

My black pullet surrogating a three week old white wyandotte chick. She is an excellent mumma so far.

2 chicks hatched from your eggs we purchased earlier this summer:
both roos looking exactly alike--really nice form on them. Pic is of one, he is sure growing long green sheen feathers on his wings and strangely...feathers are very slow to come in back of his neck. Look at the mottling!

Unfortunately no females hatched, but of my own eggs did get a blue mottled girl and a very nice unrelated black pullet. Your little roo looks so good I may change my mind on pausing breeding cochins! I don't like the thought of having to let him go, he's got alot of positive.

Hi! Do you have any eggs available?? I didn't read through all of the posts previous to this last page, (other than the first page that is), so I don't know whether there is a waiting list or how you are selling the eggs. Please advise me, also how you accept payment... PayPal?

Thanks so much!

Oh goodness he is simply lovely! I hope he does nicely for you if you decide to keep him!
From what I've noticed on my chicks, and is one of the easier way for me to sex my birds fairly young, is that the cockerels get large very fast, and have extremely slow feather growth, whereas the pullets stay fairly small but often are near perfect circles they had so many feathers.

Hi there! There is a waiting list, and it is a bit long. But the good thing is I finally have one bird laying, so hopefully the others will be following soon.
I accept paypal and MO's

I now have two girls laying! I would like to have atleast one more laying before I start shipping again for freshness sake. Hopefully soon though!
