Black Cochin cockerel or hen?

This is my first time owning a black Cochin. I cannot tell if he is a male or female. I thought my flock was all females but we were on vacation for a few days and when I came home and got the eggs from under a broody hen (our caretaker was too scared to reach under her) they were fertalized! Imagine my surprise. They are six months old and here is the kicker. He is mute. I have never heard a peep out of him. And I cannot see spurs. So please guide me and let me know if I am correct in assuming he is my roo incognito. Thank you!

Handsome boy, looks similar to mine at that age. I just put some of his eggs under one of my broodies last week. going to candle them in a bit.
