black colored meat bird

What breed of meat bird is one that is black with little brown "v"s all over? I was at a county fair and there were these black chickens with the thin brown "v" all over and they were sold as meat birds. Unfortunately they didn't have what breed they were on the cards and there was no one around to ask. I also don't have any pictures since I can't find a picture of this chicken on the internet.
