I have 7 chooks that are a buff, black stars and golden stars. One of four of my black stars has a black comb. Is this right? The other 3 black stars have red just like the rest of the flock. I have read and all I can find out is possible frostbite? It has not been cold enough for that. Any ideas or other things I should check for? Thank you!

Black combs can be a result of frostbite, but the injured part usually falls off I believe. If your chicken's comb is dark it could be a heart condition where it's not getting enough oxygen. There is a condition called blue comb that is contagoius. Here's the link: https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/blue-comb
