I had order a few new girls they got her this morning, and one babie is alive but very weak, seem very dehidrated and any help would be great please Help!!!!
Have you dipped their beaks in the water? Do you have anything added to the water...like electrolytes or sugar? Where did you get them from, and did you get Grogel with your order? We need more info so we can help you better. There are several options.
I have given her water and wraped her in a warm towel from the dryer to help raise her body heat and the are bigger birds 2 of the 4 shipped to me are about 9 weeks old and the 2 samller ones are about 3 weeks I have some grogel but how would I get it down her,I used a small sernge to put some sugar water down her,I also have rooster booster if you think it would help her ,
grogel is like sugar in the water, but it got electrolites in it, try to feed her cooked egg, thats what I do with the weak ones, put it on the tip of your finger and see if she pecks at it, if no,t try to put a very small amout in her beak once she gets a teast of it she should eat Paula
OK, I thought they were day-olds. I don't have any experience with older chicks yet...mine are only 6 weeks old.
Vitamins and Electrolytes are important...I got mine at the local feed store and it's called Vi-tal for $2.79. Or you can use Poly-vi-sol baby vitamins from any grocery or drug store. Grogel could help...I think it has vitamins, electrolytes and probiotics. Hard-boiled eggs are really good too, my chicks love them and they are very nutritious.
I don't know what rooster booster is...I don't have experience with that yet.
Sounds like you're doing good so far, giving her sugar water and keeping her warm. Best wishes!!!!!
