Black Copper Maran: hen or roo?

Here is our 12-week old bcm who we suspect is male. Below is a pic of our other Maran from the same hatch who we think is female. Would love some confirmation on this because I have someone who would like to take him if he's a rooster and we want to give him away ASAP since we are having a bit of a crowding problem in our coop while we wait to sex all the newbies.

I'd say pretty confidently that it is a rooster.

Here's our other Maran. Looks like a girl to me.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that one looks like a cockerel also. The red in the wings is a pretty sure-fire sign of a rooster. Females generally don't get that trait. The comb is a bit smaller than the other one, but still large for a 12 week old.

Uh oh. I'll try to get another shot of that one later that shows the tail feathers more. That would be a bummer! We've had bad luck so far with our marans being male. Our beautiful female Maran was killed by a neighbors dog along with our white brahma; our two favorite chickens!

We really don't need a shot of the second bird's tail, he's male. The comb, the red color coming through where it is, those are male signs. Two handsome males, sorry.

Just to clarify: the first 3 pics are bird #1 the last picture is bird #2 who we thought was a girl. All of you think it's a boy??
