Black Copper Maran or Cochin?

I got my pullets in a straight run in September 2017. The breeder told me that he put some Cochins in with the Marans to make up the count I wanted.
6 months later I have 6 hens out of 16 . Lol, I’m not sure are these Cochins or Marans? Two of my hens have distinctive markings as Black Marans. These in the pictures do not.

Cochins are very puffy. Like round ball of chicken. Those don't look like cochins. I don't know what marans look like, so I can't confirm they are marans.

Look like marans to me .the ones I'm hatching out are blue copper marans .

You'll definitely know what you have when the eggs come in no mistakes there. The marans are the darkest of any chicken breed .

If I keep a rooster with the most red feathers will that help the babies to have more red feathers?

Probably so since I've read that the roosters genes are more dominant.

Beautiful! I definitely ended up with the breeders undesirables. I don’t mind, my boys are big and pretty. That’s a handsome rooster!
