I'll get more this weekend. So far you think I would be better off with the rooster that is overcolored rather than overmelanized, correct?

Best thing is hold the bird and open the wing , then release the wing and see if it folds back tight. You might just have to wait a while for the molt to be over and check. I see one of the males has a weaker wing fold. These males you will have to wait on for a while to mature and hope for the best. The mostly black one will not ever have enough Copper.

You see it in the wing feathers as soon as they start growing in. Here he is at 4 weeks

I'm going to hang on to them as long as I can. I sold off my AM roosters too soon, and sold one that I really wish I had kept. I'm just glad to know that I at least have potential here
