I am the new mommy of 7 FBCM's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited.. wee lil ones, and I'm learning as I'm going.. Thank you so much for this!.. I have learned so much for reading about everyone else!.. Just amazing!! Can I post pictures of them?
There are now olive eggers in our future! I picked up three EE gals last night. One is butt ugly (floppy single comb.. What the heck?) but all three are good layers. Miss butt ugly passed the "anatomy test" the best and that is why she came home with me. One was too pretty to leave behind.. She's blue. According to her anatomy she isn't a stellar layer but she's preeetty! The green earlobes are something else. They are way more jittery than my Marans. And I really appreciate how immature my Marans are now that there are grown birds here. They are in quarantine in a coop I cobbled together out of garden fencing, a shipping blanket and dog crates.
My five BCM pullets started laying two weeks ago at twenty-five weeks. Yesterday was the first day that all five layed on the same day! The four days before that they gave us four eggs a day.
Holy cow. I went to click on the next page and there wasn't one. I don't know what I'll do with my abundance of spare time now that I've finished reading this thread.
I hatched some Bev Davis and Jeane C1 babies on March 21st, this is a Davis baby the day he hatched..
Jeane C1 at a week old..
And here's the Jeane C1's upfront at 4 weeks, checkout the stinkeye on the one behind and to the left..
