Black Copper Marans discussion thread

Won't breed the one in the middle, but want to see how he develops. Started crowing at six weeks and looks like he'll be huge

What kind of Maran is the one to the far left. I have this one (on left) and it was suppose to be a blue copper maran but I am not real sure about.

Pretty sure that has been answered a few days ago. She is a golden cuckoo marans. Not a blue copper.

These are not the best pics, but I was wanting some opinions on weather he would be good to breed to my girls.

If you're asking about the bird to the far left of my photo, she and the others that look like her are Cream Legbars.

Also in the photo are some Blue Copper Marans

Thanks, That is the one that I was asking about (Far Left) I thought the colors looked similar to mine. Someone else told me that mine looked like a golden cuckoo maran. The person that I got the eggs from doesn't have that breed and told me the egg was from a Blue. Anyway, it is a roo, so not sure if I will keep him.

Not CCL. That bird has feathered legs and CCL don't. There are NO blue birds in that pictures. Those are Black Coppers.

If he is a roo he is a cross... probably a cuckoo marans hen and a Copper Marans cock. He is single barred so he must be a cross of some kind, could have even been a barred rock hen.... anything barred with a Copper Marans cock would produce a cockerel like that.

The poster wanted to know what the bird in the above picture on the far left was and it is NOT a CCL.
