Congratulations! She looks like a nice pullet. I hate trying to take pictures of chickens. I had hoped that someone would post the placings from that show, but have not seen them yet.
Quote: I did post them, I think on Monday...after I posted the egg show results. I didn't get to meet the winner to congratulate him, I see he is on here so "Congratulations"...
I don't think this is split wing. He is young, and the wing feathers are probably not totally grown out. There is the axil feather in the middle that is usually shorter than the others, I think tha tis what you are seeing. When your bird is standing straight, you will see a division in the wing feathers, like you see when you separate them in your hand, If, as it looks in the photo, that the wing feathers are all nice & tucked up together, without any separation, then he is ok. The fact that the white tips stick out really is not important. He will shed those feathers and the white should disappear.OK here are some pics of the bird I was talking about. He is about 3 months old.
You can see in this pic the white wing tips peaking out by his tail.
Here is a wing spread out. That was really hard to get all by myself!
Other side
Now if this is split wing, the question is, is this genetic or could it be an incubation/hatching problem? This guy was from shipped eggs and got shrink wrapped. He was stuck about 24 hours , even tho I was wetting the membrane. I finally had to pull some of the membrane and shell off so he could finish getting out. If this is genetic, do we know how it goes? I mean is it a simple thing to get rid of or is it one of those things that gets worse over generations like sprigs?

That is quite a large egg for your first pullet egg!
I saw her in person! The bird that is. What a great show. I had no idea you were a BYCer. The egg table was fun. Do you have more pictures of her??
