Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, I said at the beginning of the post that they were bought eggs and hatched by two broodies. I love that mom's coloring, but she is not the biological mother and is not a marans. Again, as noted in the post, I am not trying to breed them and I would actually prefer more copper than the marans requirements allow. I'm just hoping for pretty hens that lay pretty eggs!Really to early to tell on sexes right now. Give it a few weeks. Did you buy eggs and hatch them under a broody? Reason I asked is the Blue that looks like the mom. She has a pea comb (Which Marans are not Suppose to have) and to much copper or yellow in the chest. Again not suppose to have.
