Thank you for your opinion. And now I'll just take myself back to the amateur friendly threads, where they don't eat newbies for lunch...
Please don't mind Don's matter of fact nature... While he might not win any congeniality awards in the near future, most will learn a ton from him, if they listen... His breadth of knowledge and experience is pretty impressive IMHO. I am usually only a lurker here but read EVERY one of his posts with great anticipation. I got some hard advice from him early on and as much as I didn't want to hear what he was saying... In retrospect, he was dead on. So for me, keep calling it as you see it Don. As for "kkwinky" hang in there... We love all participants here, newbies (i put myself in that category) to the most seasoned. Ps... I've used such egregious terms as roo... wheaton... as well and probably some I can't remember... just please don't tell anyone!!!!

Take your feelings off your elbows, stick around and learn something. I am a newbie too. I have learned a bunch around here, especially from snowbird.
Don't let pride make you leave! After all why are you here if not to learn something!

My first post of pictures on this thread, someone told me to eat my chickens and start over. I knew then these are the people I needed to be talking to if I really wanted some true black copper Marans.

Loved it!!!!!
Basically, the same painful advice I received from Don... I didn't really want to accept it at the time due to the time effort AND money invested up to then so I waited a little while did a little test breeding and when in came down to it the birds would have been a little more tender had I acted sooner.... Not to mention losing another season in building a decent starter flock.

I wholeheartedly agree with Dan's sentiments. If you take yourself to amateur friendly threads you limit your ability to learn.

Snowbird was trying to gently teach you with a little humor and was misunderstood. Such is the nature of the written word. I used the word cock referring to a male over a year old in a FB discussion the other day. My friend who is well vested in using "*****" for her dogs, commented with humor, "Did you type that OUT LOUD?"

It is the correct terminology, Roo is not and sadly neither is Rooster..

I too respect Snowbird's wisdom and read carefully whenever he shares.
Thank you Don for sharing.

Cyndi
