What causes a Black Copper Marans chick about 2 weeks old to have a band of grey on it's wing feathers? Could it be a very dark Blue Copper chick?

I had this happen when there were incubation problems that stressed the chicks. They will molt out and not return.

That's amazing!! I know how you feel. Last Monday my little Olive Egger laid her first egg

Have you ever seen anything like this on a BCM chick? Quite odd.
