What is that you are using for a brooder - - - is it a fish tank ? ? ?

Yep! Fish tank! Works great and the babies can see my every move. I have tried all types of brooders and this is my favorite. I have noticed that the babies reared in this are way less skiddish and jumpy.....because they can see me coming. I'm not scaring them half to death when I suddenly reach this long arm into or over the sides, or peep my head over the top. They used to jump and freak out......I hated that. This works much better.

OK! Got better pics of the chikkies. What do you think of #2? Boy or girl?

Sherman (looking more like a roo each day!) He's fiery (get it? Sherman? Fiery?) but not too bad to handle.

Evening...

I;m new to this this thread though I've had some Marans since this past summer. Only one BCM though - Her name is Vera Wang.

She was one of the rejects from someone who actually breeds them - I think he said too much copper? I don't particularly care, we've just got a small backyard flock.

The first two are from the summer - she's much bigger now, the last one is more recent, though not a very good shot...

I really like Sherman and if I had to say a gender on #2, then I would base my guess by the last photo and say this is a rooster.
