I thought I saw quite a few cockerels too. Hen combs stay pretty pale yellow for awhile. That flesh color is the beginning of the pink that turns red.

Dang it, lol. Fortunately we have an acquaintance who breeds lots of chickens who will take the ones in we don't want if there are too many. Three pullets would actually be perfect, so I'll keep my fingers crossed.

It's good to know they should feather out nicely and these birds have "butterball" potential, but yeah, they're definitely in the "butt ugly" stage, lol. They're fun though and I'm enjoying watching them grow soooooo much. Today they're going outside to play in their run; they will love that.

Good morning DEBBI!!! My puter.... (new one) is alive!!!

My birthday is next week so my husband (part rock star,

part superhero) built me a custom system to accomodate all of my freeky chicken picture storage etc... My camera is now on the prowl as of today.... I have a bunch of sorting to do to find all the pics for this thread.... Got hit with a BBBBBAAAAADDDDD virus and it ate everything.... It was a trojan that started picking away at me in December and slowed my system down so much and then BLAM it knocked me out completely and I couldn't even get on the net at ALL... Well I can now!!!

thanks!!! I am not even going to try to catch up.... there is hundreds of pages between these threads.... Sorry I missed so much.
Those juveniles look fine... They are growing out nicely.... Time will tell on them what is good and what isn't.. so far nothing to write home to Ma about.
