Smith poultry supply sells them. I made one out of the heavy wire that reinforces the top of our woven wire field fence. The field fence is too flimsy itself, but the top and bottom wire are just right. The wire is a little crooked, but hey... it works.
So interesting that this came up on the thread at this point. I haven't been on in ages - just not home or on the laptop... but I just tried this the other day, with wire, and it must have been too thin - totally didn't work with any of my stronger roosters - they just kicked it off.
But I was wondering if anyone has ever used one of those grabber things that snake handlers use that has a padded "pincher" at the end and a squeeze handle at the other - or those things that vertically challenged people use to grab things off high shelves... same idea. I've been thinking about looking for one, seems safer than the wire thing.
