Black Copper Marans throwing White chicks?

See the pullet to the right in this picture? She's of the Jeane line. In my experience, she is typical of the line.

She's got WAY too much copper coloring in her neck/hackles; she's got the wrong colored eyes (her eyes are almost green), and she's not heavy enough in conformation.

Most of her body is hidden but it looks as if she does not have the mahogany gene necessary to give deep rich copper hackles.​

Monarc, I'm glad you are happy with them! I'm sure they're lovely. I think the line has become diluted; you may have been one of the lucky ones that got some very nice ones! I've seen VERY nice birds from the line, it's just that I seldom see them much any more. Can you post some pics? I'd love to see yours!

I've talked to others who've hatched not only wheatons, but whites from Wade Jeane lines. So far, I've only gotten the Copper Blacks, but I'd welcome a surprise!

Well my wade jeane girls are close to being all black !! great coloring on them !!!! And the roos are stunning. These are my second generation ( I think) I have their parents that I bought as day old and these are eggs that I have hatched and now in June-July they should be laying as well
