Black dots on my roosters comb?

So for the past couple of months, my rooster has had black dots on his comb, I thought nothing of it and it was just dirt and it would fall off. Some did just fall off with a brush of a finger. Most didn't. I'm not too worried as its been there for months and he doesnt seem to care but it might be painful and I want him to be pain free. My rooster is about 20 weeks old and he is a Golden Comet. Thanks for any help.

Can you post any pictures? Spots on combs frequently are caused by pecking or fowl pox. Peck marks are usually jet black, lightening over time as they heal, while pox start out pale or beige, then may turn brown. Pox is a virus that last several weeks, and usually gets better, unless they are secondary infections.
