Pictured below is one of my Austra Whites with blood or black dots on her comb… My other Austra white has a chapped comb & a couple black dots as well. Both of my austrawhites sneeze occasionally(Is this the norm for this breed?). I posted last week about small black dots & dryness. Here is the post with pictures for reference:

Is this looking like a disease or an injury?

Thanks in advance!

I'm going to be truthful. I do not know what the dots are. But I've had this show up on my roosters' combs over all these years. I can tell you that painting Blu-kote on the lesions will clear them up. Use a Q-tip and not the dauber that comes inside the bottle. You'll get far less mess when the chicken shakes their head when they feel their comb is wet with the solution.

The black dots are just dried blood where the comb has been cut. They will heal red and be fine. It might be biting to establish the pecking order or just accidents.

I don’t believe sneezing is different in any breed, it will be as sign of a respiratory illness or irritation in the air.

Thanks! I’m thinking it might just be irritation in the air. One of them sneezed right after she ate! She had food on her nose 😆
But just in case- Is any intervention needed for respiratory illness?

What a relief! Thank you!
