Black dots on Roos Comb Picture

My Roo has these black dots and the other day someone else had posted - Finally I got a good picture of it.

We have mosquitos' here in Jacksonville.

Someone said it could be nothing, dried blood, or pox.

Thought I would follow up and ask now I have pictures!

Fowl pox will give your chickens horrible black spots on the comb but that's not what I think it is... I think he got pricked by something and those are scabs. Try researching fowl pox a bit more though... I'd hate to totally dismiss it.

I only heard about it when I was asking another question and someone posted about black dots and I realized mine had some too but there were no pictures. It made me concerned.

From the picture, it could be the beginning stages of fowl pox, or it could be just pecks from another chicken or some other kind of injury. You just need to watch and see what happens.
