Black forming on comb

Something is going on and I am worried. We have three Barred Rocks that are around 14 months old. All have been consistently healthy and we have had no know issues with them. They are all laying normally and acting normaloly. In the last three days one has developed some sort od scale on it's comb and it appears to be growing. I have uploaded a picture. Any ideas of what it is? Sould I do something about it? Worry? No worry? Help!

that is blood they are pecking at each other. Do you have roosters? Mine do fight once in awhile, it is a dominance thing and hens will go at each other too!

Ok thanks. That was one of the thoughts I had but didn't figure it would be a continuing deal. No roosters but sometimes ladies can fail to play well together I guess. Should I separate them for a while? see if it stops? any thoughts?
