Just wondering how many pullets you have? I'm a newbie but I've read that you need at least 10 per every rooster.

I didn't even mean to have a rooster. I purchased 7 day-old females.

Maybe others on here can weigh-in but that's what I read in most places. It's a 10:1 ratio (as a minimum).

Right now he's a really sweet rooster but still pretty young. Everyone gets along so well. They even love the dogs.

10 to 1 ratio is ideal for breeding. Pet flocks don't need that ratio. A male can over-mate a favorite hen causing feather damage and even blood. Hopefully your male will spread the love around. Your flock looks bright and healthy. They should be fine.
