I remember in the 60's going to Chinatown to eat and hearing tales of their affection for dog meat. The running joke was that the chicken dishes might be dog.... and there WERE times these restaurants got in trouble for dogs in the fridge. But I doubt they ever served them to customers; too good to waste on us..... Wasn't a problem for me, anyway. Restaurants in this country basically always serve white meat, and I have never cared for it, though I love the dark meat, so I don't order chicken in a restaurant.

Just variations in cultures, after all.
