What would I get if I cross a black orpington rooster with a barred rock hen?
How would the offsprings look like when they are grown up? like an orpington or like a barred rock?

All roosters from this cross would have a single copy of the barring gene, and all hens would be black. They would otherwise have mixed traits of both breeds.

Black Hens with Single Barred roosters, are you by any chance trying to recreate the Black Plymouth Rocks? It's going to be quite hard to obtain clean yellow shanks as the OP calls for.
