Black Pygmy Goat No longer for sale.

QA,
I agree with helmstead. She is very beautiful and way under market for a doe. If I were closer I would nab her to add to my milkers.

Yes full Nubians get much bigger, I am sorry, my other post wasnt clear

I meant that she does have nubian in her. Pygmy goats do not have those floppy ears and Nubian goats have super floppy ears!! My guess is that she is Nubian and Pygmy mixed, which isnt uncommon at all. Boer goats mixed with anything "almost" always have alot of white in their body, coming from the Boer traditional brown head and full white body, thats why I wouldnt say Boer mix because she looks like she is a full dark color. Either way she is beautiful and would make a great addition to anyones family

I would say half nubian half pygmy. She does not have any boer in her. That is also a common nubian color I have 3 like that. As far as that being a low price, I don't really don't think so. she is adorable, but I also live in South East Ohio and it is boer boer boer. Nothing else sells but boers. I am not a big fan of them, but oh well. They are wiping the dairy out around here, alot of dairy people have went boer. It is sad. A couple months ago I was trying to sell a couple of super sweet 3/4 nubian kids, they were 4 months old, a doe and wether. The wether was rare blue roan, and the girl was tan with markings. The doe was registerable, and could have made a nice milker. Both had wonderful personalities. It took over a month of advertising and they were sold for $60 for both as pets. I don't think she is undermarket.

The other two goats we bought with her are nubian/boer cross. We were disappointed because the lady told us on the phone they were 100% Nubian and that was what we wanted.

I do appreciate everyone's advice and input. She is a beautiful little goat.

I should also add the biggest problem we are having with her is she is a huge escape artist. She seems to find every way out possible and we spend hours every day tightning up the fenceline.

Oh mY gOSH YES, Nubians are GGGreat escape artists, they can jump crawl climb!! If you want to keep her try tying her out, that is your best bet at keeping her confined!! Good Luck.

I bet she is a Pygmy/Nubian cross, otherwise known as a "Kinder". There is a registry for Kinders, even. If she is an escape artist, that would be the pygmy in her. My Nubians have never challenged my fencing, but I have had problems with both Nigerians and Pygmies.

Tying a goat out is not a wise thing...unless you wish them to hang themselves.

Hang themselves on what? I have 4 pygmies that like to be tied out in the afternoon to nibble on the fallen leaves and grass. If you get them adjusted to a collar and leash and use a small cinderblock I dont really see the problem IMO.

As long as there isn't anything else around for them to climb on or get hung up on...lol. I use plastic break away chains on my Nubians in case they stick their head in something or whatnot. I just hear a lot of stories of goats hanging themselves.

I had 3 pygmy's and we only tied her. She would climb up on top of her house and jump off, or she would climb up by the tree and eat the leaves. We never had one hang themselves. And my best friend has 2 of them and they are tied too. Living out here in Amish country that's all they do is tie them.

I am very sorry if you had a bad experience with tying them out.

They are such good weed eaters.
