Black silky roo or hen?

“She” started making some
Odd noises around 1pm today. We are playing she’s a hen but accidents happen! Any sexing advice? Photo attached

Yeah, looks like a male to me too.

Check local chickenkeeping Facebook groups, silkies are very popular and people are always looking for a nice rooster. When you get ready to rehome him, take some really quality photos, talk him up about what a nice rooster he is, and somebody will want him for sure. Be sure to emphasize he's for a pet or laying flock so nobody tries to eat him, though it would be silly if somebody wanted to since they're like wiry two pound balls of fluff anyway.

I lost one of my silkies earlier this week and was able to find a Silver Laced Orp chick to replace her locally the exact same day through a group like that, it was unreal. Looks like an easy way for people to sell hatching eggs and other kinds of poultry too.

I find it a lot less sketchy than sites like Craigslist too, because if people are part of a chicken group on Facebook you know they're pretty serious about the hobby so they're not as big of flakes when it comes to making deals on their chickens. I'd feel a lot better giving my chickens to someone who is in a group like that versus a random stranger.
